Y Strainer – Purpose and Application
Leading Y Strainer, Y Type Strainer Manufacturer, Supplier, Distributors & Exporter
Y Type Strainer is essentially a filter with wire mesh as a filtering media. It is used in the process line to filter out any solids larger than the mesh size which are trying to pass through the process line. This y type strainer is important for the proper functioning of the pump. They are designed for longer service life and high performance even after consistent use in extreme and testing environments of high temperature and pressure. Body of Y type strainer is normally cast iron or cast steel in various grades with flanged and socket weld type end connection. Fabricated Y strainers are also available.
Our Y Type Strainer has a compact design and full flow, with a large filtration area for low-pressure drop and more solid collection. The valves are provided with a drain plug that can be replaced with a ball valve for frequent blow off. Moreover, the element is strengthened for rigidity and long life and fitted in machined seats. These types of strainers are named normally used for curse filtration. But with a large filtration area can be used with fine mesh also. This y type strainer is important for the proper functioning of the pump. They are designed for longer service life and high performance even after consistent use in extreme and testing environments of high temperature and pressure.
Our precision-engineered designs a wide range of Y type strainer that is applicable in various industries. They are available with stainless steel body and stainless steel filter element of perforated sheet and wire mesh as per the client requirement. The high-grade raw material is used to fabricate this stream. We provide a range of Y type strainers that are designed in compliance with international quality standard. These are designed following the specifications of our clients, also following the engineering standards of the industry.
In a Y-type strainer, the filter leg connects to the main pipe at a diagonal angle, giving the strainer its “y” shape, and hence its name. Y type strainers usually have a lower dirt holding capacity than basket type strainers, which means that they require more frequent cleaning. In applications where significant amounts of debris are expected, a blow down valve can usually be fitted in the strainer cap, which enables the strainer to use the pressure of the steam to be cleaned, and without having to shut down the plant.
